Despite the lockdown-enforced postponement of his own opening at No.27 The Terrace, it has not taken long for chef Ben Prior to make a name for himself at Porthminster Kitchen, where he will be based for the summer.
Ben’s @ Porthminster Kitchen was featured in The Times’ 30 best beach cafés and restuarants at the weekend. “The eclectic menu uses the best Cornish seafood in imaginative dishes such as crisp fried squid with black spices, citrus miso, and Thai-style salad,” enthused the reviewer.
In his regular newsletter, Ben says: “I am very grateful to Mick Smith for allowing me to work at the Porthminster Kitchen and even allowing a slight name change!”
The menu is described as a “playful take on Cornish cuisine” and enjoys an excellent harbourside location.
