Fair Mo is a long-standing St Ives tradition which dates back hundreds of years when it was a fair which filled the streets. People had a day off work and school, and children would save up pennies all year for the event.
It was originally a pig fair. Pigs used to be kept on the town beaches and one would be roasted for the locals to eat.
“It’s somewhat smaller these days, but we like to keep the tradition alive,” said Jo Grant, of St Ives Parish Church.
Fair Mo will run from 10am until 4pm.
