St Ives and Carbis Bay Memory Café is the latest group to benefit from the fundraising activity of St Ives Bay Community Choir.

A cheque for £500 was presented to Memory Café chairman Peter Ritchie. The money was raised during a Proms concert at Carbis Bay Memorial Hall.
The choir recently hosted a joint concert with St Buryan Male Voice Choir, at the Fore Street Methodist Church in St Ives, raising £700 for St Julia’s Hospice and the Cornwall Blood Bikes group.
That was the second time the choir has supported St Julia’s this year, with £600 raised in April at a joint concert with the Mount’s Bay Singers. In June, £400 was raised for the Douglas Woolcock Foundation and Cornwall Blood Bikes at a concert at St Buryan, again with their Male Voice Choir.
The Community Choir’s next concert, prior to rehearsing their Christmas selection of music, will be a Remembrance Day concert at the Royal British Legion, where they will perform a new selection of songs, together with some wartime favourites. This commences at 7pm on 11th November. All are welcome.
