We’re Liz and Darren Norbury, and we’ve been running St Ives Local since 2018. Our background is in journalism — we both have more than 25 years’ experience working on newspapers and magazines in Cornwall and beyond, as reporters, feature writers and sub-editors.
While working at Devon and Cornwall Media, we each played a major role in the launch of Cornwall Today, writing and editing much of the first issue, and laying the foundations for a top-class publication which went on to be recognised as the county magazine for Cornwall.
We bring all this experience to St Ives Local, along with the local knowledge which comes from many years of living in St Ives Bay. Community spirit is one of the things which make this a great place to live — along with our beautiful beaches!
Our aim is to produce a magazine which people love to read, not just flick through — and that means it’s the perfect platform for advertisers to reach residents and visitors alike.
