Advertising: terms and conditions

The following terms and conditions are provided to give our customers full clarity, and to confirm our levels of service and commitment.

St Ives Local logo

1. Artwork

If you are submitting your own design, then a copy of the advert must be with us before the copy deadline date. Your advert must be submitted in one of the following formats: JPEG, TIFF or PDF. A minimum of 300dpi is required. Bleed advertisements must be designed inclusive of 3mm bleed.

We reserve the right to reject materials supplied for advertising if the quality or content does not meet our requirements for print. No responsibility can be taken for the print quality of any advert supplied at a lower resolution.

We will submit any artwork created by us to you for proof-reading and approval before the deadline.

2. Errors and Changes

If you have requested that your advert is designed by us, it is your responsibility to ensure that you give us the correct information about your business services and the details you wish to have included in your advert. It is important to check your advert proof thoroughly and notify us of any changes which need to be made. We cannot be responsible for any incorrect details that are supplied to us.

In the case of multiple bookings, changes to adverts can be made prior to the production of each issue of the magazine. Changes need to be submitted to us before the deadline date – otherwise we reserve the right to print a previously published advert which has already been approved.

3. Copyright

All adverts and articles are accepted on the understanding that reprinting permission has been obtained. It is the advertiser’s responsibility to acquire any necessary copyright permissions for the use of any images, logos, photos, trade logos, clip art or any other content.

4. Placing of Adverts and Articles

The positioning of adverts in the magazine is at our discretion, unless a premium price has been paid to reserve a particular position. We give no guarantee of the level of response to adverts or articles.

We will include your company name in the Local Directory in the back of each issue of the magazine and on our website. This is offered on a complimentary basis and is not guaranteed.

We reserve the right to refuse publication of any advert or article.

5. Rates and Payments

We reserve the right to increase prices at any time with immediate effect. Any price changes will be communicated to the advertiser in advance.

Payment for our services shall be made by BACS, unless otherwise agreed, and shall be received by us by no later than 14 days from the date of the invoice.

We reserve the right to pass outstanding invoices to an appointed debt recovery service to act on our behalf. The advertiser will be responsible for any charges made by the debt recovery service provider and/or court costs.

6. Cancellation of Adverts

If a booking is made for 3 or 6 issues at a discounted rate, but an advertiser cancels before completing the contract, we reserve the right to invoice for the difference between the reduced rate charged and the full rate that would have applied according to our published rate card.

If a business ceases trading and a booked advert is not cancelled, an invoice will still be raised for payment.

7. Delivery and Distribution

Door-to-door delivery of our magazines to residential and businesses premises in the TR26 and TR27 postcode areas is carried out by Royal Mail. When non-delivery of magazines is brought to our attention, we will pass this information on to Royal Mail, but we cannot guarantee delivery to every letterbox.

We also place many magazines in shops, cafes, libraries and other public spaces. This is a complimentary service, and delivery to particular premises is not guaranteed.
