A vibrant day of activities, both on and off the water, is coming to St Ives this weekend with the revival of the Boats in the Bay festival.

The event will bring together heritage vessels and working fishing boats for a day that will take pride in the town’s rich maritime heritage.
From the moment visiting boats begin to arrive in town, by road, a sense of occasion will build around the harbour. Visitors will be able to enjoy a lively shoreside programme of family-friendly events and displays, before the action moves out onto the water.
The highlight of the day will be a spectacular parade of sail in the afternoon, as heritage vessels from the Jumbo Association take to the bay, followed by sculling races in the harbour as the evening draws in.
Boats in the Bay is organised by St Ives BID. Business liaison office, Catherine Cooper, said: “It’s about honouring the past, supporting our present fishing community, and celebrating the strength of St Ives as a working harbour town.
“We look forward to bringing the community together for a special day in the harbour.”
