First Group will be ceasing to operate buses in Cornwall from 14th February, 2026, but Go Cornwall has confirmed that it will step in with similar services.
As far as St Ives and Hayle are concerned, the services to disappear will be the T1, T2, 17, and 17A routes. These buses are not subsidised by Cornwall Council.
“We understand how concerning this news will be for residents who rely on these routes every day,” said managing director, Richard Stevens. “Our message today is simple and clear: no community will be left unserved.”
He added: “We want people to know that any area currently served by these routes will continue to have access to bus services.
“While the network will not be replicated like-for-like, we will ensure alternative or amended services are in place. Our priority is to keep Cornwall connected.”
