This traditional Cornish cottage is situated on a pedestrian-only lane just moments from the surf of Porthmeor Beach and the world-famous Tate Gallery.
The Green House is a charming two-up, two-down cottage, built over an old pilchard press.
Offering tantalising glimpses of St Nicholas’ chapel on The Island from the rear windows and a sea view to check the surf, it is ideal for small families or couples looking for a cosy bolt hole from which to experience all that St Ives has to offer.
Ground floor accommodation comprises:
- Sitting room/dining area with a stripped floor, two-seater sofa, two easy chairs, a new smart TV, dining table and chairs for four, and an exposed granite wall.
- Kitchen, with gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge with icebox, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, dishwasher and modern washer/dryer, toaster, and a drying rack. A sash window has glimpses of St Nicholas’ chapel.
First floor accommodation comprises:
- A bedroom, with 4ft 6in double bed with roller drawers underneath, bedside units, tall chest of drawers, second TV, CD player, mirror and sea view towards The Island over rooftops.
- A second bedroom, with full-size 3ft bunk beds, plus wardrobe.
- Bathroom, with bath with overhead power shower, wash basin, grab rails, WC, and heated towel rail.
On foot, it is only 60 seconds from the beach to the cottage, but to load and unload a car, you must park briefly on the road at the beginning of Porthmeor Beach. This is a recognised local custom.
Upper Meadow cannot be accessed directly by car – there are two short flights of steps (six steps in all) along the path and leading up to the front door of the property. Barnoon car park is further up the hill. Two dogs are welcome.
