A Kernow Reuse shop is coming to the St Erth Recycling Centre, where one person’s trash can have a new life as another’s treasure.

Run by SUEZ, which is commissioned by Cornwall Council to manage Cornwall’s waste, household items, electricals, musical instruments, tools, sports equipment, furniture, and much more will be saved from the skips and sold on at affordable prices.

“I’m really, really proud of what we’re creating in Cornwall,” said Becky Parry (pictured), Cornwall renew manager at SUEZ. “Reuse is the best thing for the environment.

“The shops provide the opportunity for us to divert items from the waste stream, and for members of the community to buy things at affordable prices.”

Meanwhile, traders and businesses can now dispose of commercial waste at the St Erth centre. Customers must book in advance to use the chargeable service.

Charges will vary depending on the type of material and the size of the vehicle. There are set costs for certain large bulky items, such as sofas. For other types of trade waste, such as garden waste or building materials, the charge will depend on the size of the vehicle or trailer used.
