St Austell’s Pedn Olva hotel, beside Porthminster beach, St Ives, is to undergo a multi-million-pound transformation, the brewery has announced.
How the exterior of the new-look Pedn Olva will look
There will be a fresh look for all of the property’s public areas and its 26 bedrooms. A new, larger dining space will more than double the pub’s capacity.
To the back of the hotel, overlooking the bay, long bi-fold doors will open onto a new terrace area, which will seat more than 40 guests. A new rooftop terrace will feature decking and coastal planters.
“This multimillion-pound transformation is designed to redefine the guest experience at one of our most iconic sites and create a space for the Pedn Olva where innovative design harnesses its unparalleled location,” said St Austell Brewery chief executive, Kevin Georgel.
“Our aspiration is to create a warm and welcoming pub atmosphere, year-round.”
The Pedn Olva will close in January for work to begin. St Austell aims to have it open again by early summer.
