St Ives is preparing to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a street party on Wharf Road to which everyone is invited.

The event, on Sunday, 5th June, is being organised by the St Ives Business Improvement District (BID). Communal tables will be spread across the harbourfront and peopl are invited to bring their own food, or buy it from the many restauarants, cafés, and take-aways in town.

It all gets under way at 10am, and there is entertainment planned for all ages. The day will culminate in a fireworks display from Smeaton’s Pier at 10pm.

• Over the four days of the bank holiday weekend — 2nd-5th June — the Chapel on The Island will be illuminated in red, white, and blue.
