Police have seized alcohol from under-age drinkers in St Ives, and detained an individual in possession of class A drugs.
The St Ives Neighbourhood Team, alongside the Neighbourhood Support Team, carried out a proactive operation in St Ives on Saturday evening. It was aimed at tackling drug dealing, anti-social behaviour, and licensing issues.
Plain-clothes officers visited licensed premises across the town to identify suspicious activity. They checked compliance with licensing conditions, while uniformed officers carried out foot patrols in key areas.
During the operation, alcohol was seized from several under-age drinkers in Trewyn Gardens and the Memorial Gardens. One man was also detained after officers discovered he was in possession of class A drugs. He remains under investigation.
“We remain committed to keeping St Ives a safe place to live, work, and visit, and will continue to take action against those involved in criminality and anti-social behaviour,” said a police spokesperson.
