The Porthminster Gallery team are looking forward to a busy September, with a number of events and exhibitions, tying in with the Festival.

Interweave Sandra Blow
Interweave, by Sandra Blow, who features in Collect: Modern British Art

Collect: Modern British Art opens today (10th September) and will run until 30th September. It’s the annual selling exhibition of original signed prints and artworks by leading 20th century St Ives and British artists.

It provides buying opportunities for new and seasoned collectors alike to acquire museum-quality works usually only seen in the Tate and other public collections internationally.

There are works by: Wilhemina Barns-Graham, Trevor Bell, Peter Blake, Sandra Blow, Patrick Caulfield, Lynn Chadwick, Maurice Cockrill, Terry Frost, Barbara Hepworth, David Hockney, Patrick Heron, Howard Hodgkin, Bryan Ingham, Albert Irvin, Margo Maeckelberghe, Henry Moore, Margaret Lovell, Ben Nicholson, Victor Pasmore, Bryan Pearce, William Scott, Joe Tilson, and Fred Yates.

From 14th to 30th September, there will be a September Festival Spotlight show featuring Helen Feiler’s jewellery. It’s a stylish showcase of hand-crafted silver and semi-precious stones jewellery creations by the Cornwall artist, whose collectable work has been exhibited at the Tate galleries.

On Wednesday, 21st September, there will be a session with printmaker Trevor Price, from 3pm to 6pm. This is a rare opportunity to meet with the best-selling gallery artist and gain an exclusive, behind-the-scenes insight into his printmaking process and strategy.
