Hayle will come alive with colour and creativity this October as a number celebration gets under way — Reflections of Hayle: Telling Our Yarns.
This vibrant arts event promises a weekend full of workshops, music, theatre, and an art exhibition, showcasing the incredible talent within the community.
The theme of the event centres on collecting and sharing the stories of Hayle from across the generations. These stories will be woven into a unique banner that reflects the town’s rich history and diverse voices.
The weekend will kick off on Friday (4th October) with a theatre performance by David Mynne. The rest of the weekend will be packed with creative workshops and performances.
Highlights include a portraiture workshop for those looking to refine their skills, a drawing class perfect for beginners, and a sketchbook walk around the harbour with the Friends of the Towans Art Group. There’s also a creative writing session for aspiring writers.
All workshops, the theatre performance, and the evening of music are bookable in advance via Hayle Town Council’s website. Whether you’re eager to hone your portraiture skills or are a complete drawing novice, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Local businesses and organisations are participating in an art trail by displaying artwork in their windows, transforming the town into a gallery. Organisers are also inviting local artists to contribute pieces inspired by the event’s theme, adding to a vibrant, town-wide art trail that showcases Hayle’s creativity.
