As was remarked during the service there’s always an excellent turnout for the Remembrance Sunday ceremony in St Ives.
Vicar, the Rev Nicholas Widdows, conducts the Remembrance service at the war memorial
This year was no exception, despite the threat of heavy showers which, thankfully, held off for the duration of the civic parade from the Guildhall to the war memorial and for the service itself.
The service at the memorial was taken by the vicar of St Ia Parish Church, the Rev Nicholas Widdows. This was followed by wreath laying by the mayor, fellow councillors, other local dignitaries, and groups and organisations, such as the RNLI and Scouts.
A service of Remembrance followed in the church itself, which was well attended.
