Remembrance Sunday falls on 9th November this year, and St Ives and Hayle town councils have released details on commemorations.

In St Ives, The Royal British Legion and other organisations will assemble at The Guildhall at 10.40am. Ten minutes later, the parade will proceed to the War Memorial, via Tregenna Place and High Street.
Following the two minutes’ silence at 11am, wreaths will be laid, the mayor, Johnnie Wells, followed by the Royal British Legion and others. The parade will then move into the Parish Church for a service.
Following the conclusion of the service, the parade will return to the Guildhall. There, the National Anthem will be played, and the parade dismissed.

In Hayle, there will be a 10am service at St Elwyn’s Church, followed by a parade to the War Memorial at 10.45am. The War Memorial service will begin at 10.55 and will be followed by refreshments, served by the ATC in the Drill Hall.
At Lelant, a service will get under way at St Uny Church at 9.25am, with deputy mayor, Ken Messenger, reading the lesson. There will be a laying of wreaths at the 1914/18 and 1939/45 war memorials within the church by Cllr Messenger and the vicar’s warden.
The service will conclude at 10.30 and the assembly will move outside where, at 11am, the laying of wreaths will take place at the War Memorial.
On Remembrance Day itself, 11th November, representatives from the Royal British Legion and the town council will congregate at the St Ives War Memorial at 10.50am. Two minutes’ silence will be observed at 11am.
