On the screen are animated caper The Super Mario Movie, family fantasy adventure The Magic Faraway Tree, and action adventure Ryan Gosling film Project Hail Mary.

Designed in an Art Deco style, the cinema was opened in 1939, with Deanna Durbin film A Certain Age the first on screen.

It was purchased in 1990 by Geoff Greaves and is a key part of his Merlin Cinemas group. It has three screens.

The project has been part-funded by a grant awarded by St Ives Town Deal Enterprise Grants Scheme. The Enterprise Grants Scheme is funded by the government’s Town Deal programme and supported by Cornwall Council and the St Ives Town Deal Board. Work has been carried out on seating, toilets, and air conditioning.
