It has been announced that the St Ives Food and Drink Festival will not take place this year, but there are plans for a new and improved festival in 2025.

“After an amazing five-year term, ILOW will no longer be organising the St Ives Food and Drink Festival,” the company announced today.

“We would like to thank the committee and St Ives BID for the opportunity, as well as all the attendees, sponsors, traders, chefs, musicians, performers, staff, suppliers, local residents and Porthminster Beach Café, who collectively made it such a special event to work on.

“Further plans will be announced soon, but for any urgent queries please contact the committee on Stivesfoodfestival@gmail.com.”

The festival is owned by a local community interest company, which will be looking at how to take the event forward from next year.

For 2024, however, St Ives BID is keenly aware that accommodation may well have already been booked in and around town specifically for festival visitors.

“We are putting a call out to all businesses to get involved in either fundraising or raising the profile of the St Ives Food Festival in anticipation of the new and improved festival returning in 2025,” said St Ives BID (Business Improvement District) today.

“On what would have been the food festival dates this year, 17th-19th May, we already know from accommodation bookings there are lots of visitors booked to come to St Ives in the hope that the festival is happening.

“Can all businesses interested in holding ‘Food Festival taster sessions’ or a ‘Food Festival at your table’ evening or weekend please contact us on info@stivesbid.co.uk and you will be added to a St Ives Food Festival Trail map.

“If there are any chefs or venues out there who wish to help out with fundraising to make this event the best it can possibly, eg chef demos or tasting menus in aid of the St Ives Food Festival, with a percentage of the profits donated to the CIC, then this would secure the continuing success of our festival.”

Keep an eye out for announcements of more fundraising events throughout 2024.
