Local faces from the St Ives community are being celebrated in a new Barnoon Arts exhibition, opening at Bayspace, on Fernlea Terrace, on Thursday (13th November).

The Portrait Project began in 2023, featuring community volunteers as models. The artworks have been created by a wide range of participants, from regular attendees to one-time visitors, reflecting a rich diversity of artistic experience, from complete beginners and young artists to professionals.
Many pieces were created rapidly from direct observation, capturing the immediacy and energy of life drawing. The exhibition continues to evolve with work added as further sessions take place.
Drop in to Bayspace from 5-7pm on Thursday. See the works and meet some of the sitters and artists. There will be a ‘portrait chair’ set up for the night, inviting visitors to try their hand at quick portrait drawing, or to be a sitter!
The exhibition will run from Monday to Friday, until the end of February.
