Belgrave St Ives’ exhibition of works by Terry Frost has been well received during its first week. It’s running until 5th October at the Towednack venue.
Three Collages for Door Plates, by Terry Frost
The show features paintings, drawings, prints, constructions, and ephemera by Frost, from a private collection, spanning the artist’s career from 1946 to 2003.
Long associated with both West Cornwall and Belgrave St Ives, Frost’s hugely respected work needs no introduction. By the end of the 20th century, he was one of the best-known artists in Britain.
He was elected a Royal Academician in 1992, knighted in 1998, and his legacy lives on in the astonishing body of work he left behind him, says Belgrave.
Accompanying the show is a mixed exhibtion including works by modern and contemporary artists closely associated with the gallery: Jessica Cooper, Henrietta Dubrey, Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Anthony Frost, Jason Lilley, Jane and Padraig Mac Miadhachain, Tom Cross, Graham Rich, Brian Rice, and others.
The works in the show can be explored online here. “Please feel free to visit us here in lovely, peaceful, rural Towednack, with plenty of parking and only a couple of miles from the centre of St Ives,” say the gallery owners.
