St Ives Climate Action Group: Meeting on the second Wednesday of each month, 4pm, at the Market Place Tea Rooms, Lifeboat Hill.

Extinction Rebellion at Café Art, 7pm, every other week (see Facebook for details). A local group of the national movement.

THURSDAYS

St Ives and Carbis Bay Memory Café: At the Memorial Hall, Carbis Bay, on the first and third Thursday of every month, 2pm. For more information, call 07851 111496.

FRIDAYS

Family History Group at St Ives Library, 10.30am to noon. Research your family history — volunteer help is available. Free.

ONE-OFF EVENTS

April 20: St Ives Old Cornwall Society at St Ives Infants School, 7pm. Talk by Tony Mansell entitled Cornwall: A Land Apart. Refreshments afterwards.

April 21: U3A at the Island Centre, 2pm. A talk on Magentic Therapy, by Phil Watson. Followed by tea or coffee and biscuits.

May 5: U3A at the Island Centre, 2pm. Dean Edwards, Talking About Passmore Edwards. Followed by tea or coffee and biscuits.

May 8: Trencrom Ladies’ Club at Lelant Village Hall, 2pm. Representatives from Boots will present A Beauty Regime With Boots. Light refreshments will be available after the talk. Visitors are welcome.

May 18: St Ives Old Cornwall Society at St Ives Infants School, 7pm. AGM, followed by a talk by Hugh Trevarthen, entitled Looking at the Mount. Refreshments afterwards.

May 19: U3A at the Island Centre, 2pm. Talk entitled The Long Deep, by Des Hannigan. Followed by tea or coffee and biscuits.
