Hayle Memory Café
At the Rugby Club, Marsh Lane, on the first and third Monday of every month, 2pm. For people with memory problems, their families, and carers. Come and dance, sing, make things, share things, do quizzes and puzzles, talk, drink tea, and eat cake. Free (but donations always welcome). For more information, call 07513 221066.

Steeple Woodland Nature Reserve Work Party
Everyone is welcome to come along to take part in light exercise in a beautiful location with like-minded people. Meet by the wooden gate on Steeple Lane at 9.30am. Trencrom Ladies Club

Friends of St Ives Library (FOSIL)
Super Saturdays are held on the first Saturday of every month in St Ives Libary, from 10am-noon. There is a different theme every month. All welcome. Drinks and cake provided.

ONE-OFF EVENTS

5th December: St Ives Old Cornwall Society at Carbis Bay Memorial Hall, 7pm. A Christmas Miscellany. Bert Biscoe and Pol Hodge entertain in music and verse. Frank Stevens will also lead carol singing at the piano. Annual membership £10, or £2 per meeting for casual attendance.

6th December: St Ives U3A at Carbis Bay Memorial Hall, 2pm. Festive workshop, with Cornwall’s Chocolate Cove, followed by tea or coffee, and biscuits. Newcomers welcome.

14th December: Secrets of the Stones: Watching the Sun, at St Ives Library, 6pm. In conjunction with the winter solstice, Cheryl Straffon presents a talk inspired by and imagining how our ancestors connected with the sun in Cornwall. More details on the event Facebook page.

20th December: St Ives U3A at Carbis Bay Memorial Hall, 2pm. Members’ Christmas party.

9th January: St Ives Old Cornwall Society at Carbis Bay Memorial Hall, 7pm. Members’ evening, with a pasty supper. There will be a quiz, footpaths, a discussion on walkways and boundary stones of St Ives, a dialect story, a playlet, and members’ stories.

13th February: St Ives Old Cornwall Society at Carbis Bay Memorial Hall, 7pm. Pharmacy of Yesteryear, with Kingsley Rickard. Kingsley has tables full of interesting artefacts he has collected since becoming a pharmacist with Boots. An interesting and informative talk.
