It’s all systems go for St Ives’ famous New Year celebrations, and details of road closures and timings have now been released.

The event is organised by St Ives BID (Business Improvement District) which aims to bring the community together as well as support local businesses by attracting thousands of visitors.

More than 40,000 people are expected on the streets, many in fancy dress, with the evening culminating in a spectacular firework display at midnight.

Traffic management is under the auspices of community interest company Diverse Events, which works on projects across the South West. Roads in the centre of town will be closed from 6pm on 31st December until 8am the following morning.

This map shows, in red, roads which will be affected (apologies for the soft focus!).
