Proposals for the St Ives Town Deal Low Carbon Transport Project will go on display at the Library and Visitor Centre on Monday, 27th November.
The project aims to make St Ives a greener and healthier place to live, work and visit. Members of the project team will be on hand at the drop-in event to provide information about the proposals and answer questions, as well as listening to the views of the local community.
The event will run from 1pm until 7pm and marks the start of a five-week public consultation.
One of nine regeneration projects being funded and delivered as part of the £19.9m St Ives Town Deal programme, the strategy aims to:
- Reduce traffic congestion and conflicts in the town centre;
- Improve air quality and health outcomes for residents and visitors;
- Enhance public transport options and accessibility for all; and
- Support local businesses by creating a more attractive and vibrant town.
For those unable to attend the event, the exhibition will also be available to view online. You can have your say by filling in a questionnaire which will be available online following the launch of the public consultation. It will be available to view here. A paper copy of the questionnaire will be available at the St Ives Town Council offices, and the library.
The Low Carbon Transport Project is funded by the government’s Town Deal and delivered by Cornwall Council, in partnership with St Ives Town Deal Board.
