St Ives Community Choir is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and will mark the occasion with a garden party at Carbis Bay Memorial Hall on 6th July.

The choir was founded by Katrina Geraghty, who was musical director until 2011, when William Thomas took over. Accompanist Alison Ashby and five other members have been with the choir since the beginning.

In 2014, it was decided that money raised from concerts would go to charities. To date, the rgoup has raised more than £26,000.

Cream teas will be available at the garden party, which starts at pm, and there will also be a raffle and stalls.

New members are welcome. The choir practices at the Memorial Hall on Tuesdays, from 6.45pm. For more information, contact Lynda on 01736 796832 or 07871 805526.
